Minutes of the Board of Health Meeting of November 12 were accepted as typed and reading of the same was waived on motion by Mr. Young, seconded by Mr. Knott, so voted 4-0. HAZARDOUS WASTE SEMINAR/REPORT was made by Richard Ray. Purpose of meeting was t e release of publications by DEQE. Listed 51 known Hazardous Waste Dumping Sites and what remedial action is proposed to improve their surrounding area. 321 site were listed that DEQE has no infonnation regarding. They are not suspect- just bear looking into. Compiled by aerial photography. Concentrated on bodies of wat r not on geodetic maps. Nantucket has been noted twice. One- Surfside, one, sewer beds in S'conset. List will be published every six months. I plan to give a repo t to them on the Treatment P1ant- feel this will take Nantucket off the list. Mr. Knott asked where is all this motor oil? Ray answered he believed it was in containers. Mr. Young asked if that was what they used to put on the roads to keep the dust down. Mr. Knott said he heard that Don Allen's mixes and burns. Mr. Clute said that could be dangerous. Mr. Oliver asked if the Fire Department could? Clute said that Air Quality Control is clamping down. Ray said problem is getting off-island. Have to check with SSA to see what will and will not be a110 ed. State Board of Health Memorandum as to the repurchase of UFFI (Urea Fonna1dehyde Foam Insulation) was read. Original Ban and Notice was made in 1979. New Regu1ati ns become effective November 20, 1980, Under the new reu1ations, homeowners who already have the insulation in their homes may notify DPH of their request for r - purhcase. This request must be accompanied by a statement from an occupant or fo er occupant of the home who has suffered health problems which occurred or were agg a- vated by after exposure to the insulation. The regulations also provide for retr - active payments to homeowners who have already had the insulation removed at the r own expense for health reasons. Symptoms, etc. were also listed. PROPOSED 55 LOT SUBDIVISION: Health Inspector Richard Ray~ Report read as to thi proposed 55 Lot SubdiV1Sion' by owner John F. Gifford Et A1, Po1pis Road, wherein Ray advises that review of the Plot Plan and Percu1ation Test results show that Lots 20 thru 65 and 68 thr 74 are acceptable for septic system design with no restrictions. Lots 66 and 67 are acceptable for septic system design with attent on given to the high ground water encountered on these lots.. Mr. Gardner motioned ha1 the recommendations of the Health Officer be accepted, seconded by Mr. Knott, so voted 3-1. Mr. Young opposed.
