HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-06-25 . BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of Meeting of June 25, 1980 o The regular Meeting of the Board of Health opened at 7:35 PM after a brief sessi n of County Commissioners. Minutes of the Board of Health Meeting of June 18, 1980, were accepted as typed and reading of the same was waived on motion by Mr. Young, seconded by Mr. Gard r, so voted 4-0. CAMPING: Letter from Rebecca Strauss informing Board of Health of intent to cam of 30 people off the Surfside Road- on property belonging to Barbara and Peter Malcolm of 23 Cliff Road, Nantucket, read. Ms. Strauss attached a map of the ar with her letter, and said the campers would be arriving July 25 in time for her wedding on July 27, and plan to depart July 28, 1980. Children are included. Health Inspector Richard Ray's letter of recommendations concerning this Intent read wherein he recommends that the Board deny permission for the following reasons: Because of an expected large number of 30 campers, the area would then come under the jurisdiction of Article 8 of the State Sanitary Code: Minimum Standards For Deve10 ed Fami1 T e Cam Grounds. This camping situation would V10 ate Sectlons and respectlve y: Sectlon : Four toilets needed. Apparent1 none available. Section 8: Two lavatories needed. Apparently none available. Wi this number of people camping in such a small area without the above mentioned facilities, a great amount of damage will be done to the area in question- both environmentally and physically. Mr. Young motioned that the Health Inspector's recommendations be accepted to deny, seconded by Mr. Gardner, so voted 4-0.
