BOARD OF HEALTH
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF JANUARY 17, 1974
SUBDIVISION - FRANK J. NUOVO
Based upon the evaluations of Inspector of Health Purdy and the
Supt. of the DPW, Mr. Jones, Board denied approval for subdivision
for Frank J. Nuovo until requirements are met. Material was then
forwarded to the Planning Board for future consideration.
VARIANCE - ANGELASTRO
After much discussion with Attorney Tillotson on behalf of clients
Michael and Sally Angelastro, and further exchange between the
parties and Town Counsel Goglia regarding the granting of a
variance for property in Madaket, the Board denied the request.
Miss Gibbs made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gardner, to deny the
variance and this was done. Board felt that the report from
Whitman and Howard, Inc. indicated sufficient doubt about the wisd
of granting such a variance and, if this were granted, others woul
naturally expect their requests to be honored. Mr. Henry Kehlenbe
pointed out to the Board that, even if Atty. Tillotson did not
interpret the Whitman and Howard report in the same light as the
Board, the standards were minimum. Discussion ensued as to whethe
or no~e-subdivision is a possibility in order to comply with the
standards, but Atty. Tillotson pointed out factors that would
preclude this being feasible. The brief which had been received
from Atty. Tillotson bearing date of January 7, 1974 was noted as
part of the record and had been studied by the Board prior to the
decision. Selectman Lowell commented that the Board's concern was
not only for Tristam's Landing, but for all the island.
