BARCH 22, 1973
SUBDIVISIONS
Subdivision of Wm. B. H. and Catherine Snow was considered by the Board. This
was a preliminary plan, but Board informed the Planning Board that the road on
the plan designated as Bartlett Farm Road should actually be Somerset Farm Rd.
and that research indicates this road has not been legally taken by the County.
On subdivision of Geofrey Armbrister, the Board notified the Planning Board thai
each plot would need tests for sewage disposal works prior to blanket approval.
There appear to be some traveled ways located in the subject area which are not
sho\,'l1.
SCALLOP SHELLS
Hr. Henry Kehlenbeck presented the Board Itlith a report indicating contamination
of 11Jater supply could and probably had resulted from dumping of scallop shells
near wells, if the shells still contained particles of the scallops. Re asked
for adoption of a regulation prohibiting dumping of shells near wells of homes
which are occupied. Board voted to consult with Town Counsel.
LOT SIZE
Mr~ Kehlenbeck also asked for adoption of a regulation to make minimum lot size
15,000 square feet in an unsewered area. This is half the minimum of state
requirements. Selectman LO\"ell wondered if this would require a Zoning By-Law
change and Mr. Kehlenbeck said he had looked into this and it did not; the
Board of Health has merely to publish it in the local paper and it is effective
immediately. Board voted to contact To~m Counsel on this matter.

Third request from Hr. Kehlenbeck was for establishment of a moratorium in the
Madaket area, noting the date effective as 3/23/73. He asked for this morator-
ium until a water quAlity study is completed, 'as called for in the warrant.
He said l:r. Anderson, State Sanitary Engineer, concurs with this idea. Board
voted to consult with Town Counsel.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned to executive session.
