l30ARD OF HEALTH
MINUTES OF THE MEEI'ING OF MARCH 7, 1973
SCALLOP SHANTY INSPECTION
Shellfish Warden Holdgat'e reported to the Board that the State Food and Drug
inspection team had been down during the past week and inspected approximately
four'shanties. Their comments were that some of'the employees needed to wear
hats, some of the light fixtures needed covering, some employees were smoking
while opening scallops, some places did not appear to be using disinfectant in
the water to wash utensils. Mr. Holdgate said he did not know whether the
team would make a report back or not.
SUBDIVISION
Definitive plan for subdivision of Walter J. and Anne Glowacki was denied by
the Board after a check by the D.P.W. and its report that there is no town
sewer available to the site; therefore, all plots would require individual
sewage disposal works and tests must be made prior to approval.
'vlATER RESOURCES
-...--.-
Board talked at length with Mr. Paul Buckn~ of Whitman-Howard Company and
Mr. Paul Anderson, State Sanitary Engineer, in regard to the water resources
problem and public health problems in general. Some questions regarding the
registration of food handlers were also discussed. Many valuable opinions
were forthcoming which could be of help in administering Board of Health
functions.
There being no further business, the meeting ''''as adjourned at 10:00 P.H.
