The meeting took place in the Court Room, Town and County Building, Nantucket, MA 02554. Members of the Board present were Bruce Watts, Douglas Bennett, Whiting Willauer, Michael Glowacki and Brian Chadwick. Chairman Glowacki called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. PUBLIC COMMENT Nantucket resident John McLaughlin presented the Board with sheet music for a song entitled "This is Home," that he stated is the official "Nantucket Song." Selectman Bruce Watts announced that a memorial dedication for the late Water Beineke, Jr. is planned for Sunday, April 23, 2005 at 4:00 PM. Approval of Minutes of 6 April 2005 at 9:15 AM; 9 March 2005 at 7:00 PM. The minutes were approved by unanimous consensus of the meeting. Approval of Payroll Warrants for Weeks Ending 17 April 2005; 10 April 2005. Mr. Willauer moved approval; seconded by Mr. Bennett. So voted. Approval of Treasury Warrants and Pending Contracts for Weeks Ending 20 April 2005; 13 April 2005. Mr. Bennett moved approval; seconded by Mr. Chadwick. So voted. Park & Recreation Department: Request for Acceptance of Donations for Skate Park. Mr. Watts moved to accept a gift of $50.00 from Anne Rosen and Andre Spears in memory of former Park & Recreation employee Bob Beuscher, and to send Ms. Rosen and Mr. Spears a letter of thanks; seconded by Mr. Chadwick. So voted. Town Administration: Request for Scheduling/Adoption of Special Town Election Warrant. Town Administrator Libby Gibson explained the proposed four questions which she recommends be placed on the Special Town election ballot and some discussion followed. Mr. Watts moved to adopt a Special Town Election Warrant and to schedule the election for June 7,2005; seconded by Mr. Willauer. So voted. Town Administrator's Report. Town Administrator Libby Gibson reviewed the Articles adopted at the 2005 Annual and Special Town Meeting that need follow-up action by the Board and Town Administration. Ms. Gibson noted that she received a letter from the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (DFW) that its Board is meeting on April 23, 2005 in Belchertown, MA and that the Town's letter requesting recission of the February deer hunt is on the agenda. A brief discussion followed concerning when the town might hear if DFW will be terminating the February deer hunt week on Nantucket. At 7:30 PM, Chairman Glowacki polled the Board and Mr. Chadwick, Mr. Willauer, Mr. Watts, Mr. Bennett and Chairman Glowacki voted unanimously to adjourn to Executive Session, not to return to Open Session, for the purpose of approving minutes and discussing deployment of security personnel or devices.
