Applicant proposes to relocate the existing nonconforming single-family dwelling, situated at its closest points about two feet from the southerly side yard lot line, about one foot from the westerly side yard lot line, and about one foot from the northerly rear yard lot line, to a point at which it would be sited as close as about two feet from the southerly side yard lot line, about 5.4 feet from the westerly side yard lot line, and about 1.5 feet from the northerly rear yard lot line, in a district that requires a minimum side and rear yard setback of five feet. The Applicant also proposes to construct a new addition onto the southerly side of the dwelling which would be no closer to the lot lines than the existing structure in either its present or proposed location. All other alterations would conform in all respects. In the alternative, relief by V ARlANCE under Nantucket Zoning By-law Section 139-16A is sought to complete the project as proposed.
