DECISION:
At a regular meeting of the Board of Appeals held
January 16, 1979, at the Town Buildinq, in the matter of
the Petition of CHA.HLES E. DAVIS, SR., Ef.!' l1X (040-78),
after due deliberation, the Board found:
1. The Petitioners own property on Hooper Farm
Road, shown as Lot 14 on Land Court Plan No. 26439-D at
the Nantucket Registry District, containing a dwelling
house. Mr. Davis is a self-e~ployed carpenter who
wishes to construct a garage and workshop on the property,
which will exceed the allowable ground cover ratio in
this Residential-IO district by about 600 square feet.
, The neighhorhood contains ~anyother garages, workshops,
and similar buildings.
2. The Petitioners have a hardship in regard to
their need for a suitable building on the premises for
garage and workshop purposes. A literal enforcement of
the By-Law Intensity Regulations on this size lot would
involve substantial hardship, and relief may be granted
without substantial detriment to the nubIle good ~nd
