In the matter of the petj,tion of Harold and Edith Anderson (002-74) for a variance to permit the expansion of a garage-storage (commercial) use on Copper Lane. Mr. Harold Ande:l.'son spok.e to the Board and stated he planned to add a 161 x 24' building to an e:xisting building. The present building is used for general commercial purposes. The addition will be used for storage I 'of material3 associated with the present business. Mr. Anderson stated \\ that, for the present, he pla:ns to store a boat and trailer in the new 'I I, area but eventually h'3 will use it for general business purposes. I Mr. Anderson presented the Board with photographs of the present I building and with several drawings of the proposed construction. Member Holmes questioned Mr. Anderson concerning his "hardship" and was advised that the present lack of storage space was the hardship. No other person spoke ~n favor of or in opposition to the petition. The Chairman read letters from Mr. John Bishop and Mr. Kenneth Duprey opposing the petition. I I 'I I I I I Mr. Anderson was advised that the matter would be taken under con- sideration. The hearing was clcse~. After du.e deliberation, and upon motion by Mr. Taylor, it was voted unanimously to deny the pet.i tion. The Board found no hardship on the part of the petitioner. To grant the petition would, in effect, permit the expansion of a non-conforming use in a residential area. The petition was denied. ~~ >J4r In the matter of the petition of Gloria M. Jones a variance from ground cover:requirements in order to construct a garage. The Chairman called the matter three times and, n9 person appearing, the petition was dismissed. 'I.' ' ,I,' "
