The ~eeting was opened at 4:30 p.m. by Chairman Charles Mahyew
with the following Commissioners present: Alexander Craig,
Ronald Santos, John Sullivan, and E. Foley Vaughan.
The Minutes of the July 15, 1987 meeting were unanimously
approved as written.
Messrs. Tortolano, Der Hohannesian and Ms. Frink,of Hoyle,
Tanner & Associates attended the meeting to obtain the
Cosmission's ideas for the rehabilitation and connection of the
Tower and Terminal Buildings. Mr. Dcr Hohannesian informed the
Commission that the government is working on increasing their
maneta~y participation to 90% on the public areas of terminal
buildings. It was agreed that ETA g~t together with the Manager
on changes to the inside of the terminals and with Commissioners
Santos and Sullivan on the exterior of the buildings.
Commissioner Santos will be meeting with the Sears representative
tomorrow on a window fixture for the Tower building and will run
it by the HDC for their approval. ETA will get back to the
Commission on the cost of redesigning the terminal by the next
meeting, August 19, 1987.
Regarding a request from the owners of the vintage aircraft
B-17G to display their aircraft and charge the public admission,
it was U/SiP to allow this operation from August 6 to 10th;
details are to be worked out with the Manager.
Mr. Bruce MacGregor of Sun Island Transportation spoke to the
Commission on his request to extend his road to the Delta
property. It was M/S/P to proceed with the paperwork for this
forty-foot way as requested, subject to review and approval by
Sasaki Associates, and contingent upon an agreement approved by
the Corrmission and Sun Transportation setting the ground rules.
Commissioners Craig, Santos and Sullivan voted in favor;
Commissioners Mayhew and Vaughan were opposed.
The rent-a-car washing issue was reviewed. Upon recommendations
~ro~ Joe Forns and the Health Inspector, it was M/S/P to allow
tre,e rent-a-cal-S to continue to 'dash their cars in the "pit area"
