The Minutes of the August 26, 1985 meeting were unanimously approved as written. Mr. Andy Harris of Harris Miller Miller & Hanson attended the meeting to discuss Airport noise. He informed the Commission that the FAA will not participate in funding for any noise abatement unless a Part 150 study is done, which can then be 90% funded by the Federal Government. This funding does not inter- fere with normal Airport projects. Mr. Harris felt that until the study is completed in 1~-2 years, not much could be done to alleviate the present noise problem. The Commission was informed they were not responsible for aircraft noise in flight but could control aircraft noise on the ground. On a motion by Commissioner Epple, seconded by Commissioner Beach, it was unanimously voted to take the necessary steps to secure an agency to carry out a noise evaluation study as soon as possible. Regarding Star Gas's request to reassign their land lease to petrolane Northeast Gas Service, the Commission requested back- ground information, including a financial statement and insurance certificates be provided for their review. They will also hold off on a decision until the land value evaluation is completed by Hoyle, Tanner and Associates. After reviewing a Planning Board notice of a new car dealership going up across from the Airport, the Commission felt they had no objection to this application. The Manager explained to the Commission his concept of what to do with all of the vehicular traffic at the Airport during our parking lot construction. On a motion by Commissioner Beach, seconded by Commissioner Craig, it was unanimously voted to write the Board of Selectmen to vacate the dog pound. Mr. Holdgate informed the Commission that he is continuing to negotiate with Harbor Fuel to put in a pipe line to receive aviation fuel.
