HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-03-22 Town of Nantucket NANTUCKET MEMORIAL AIRPORT Macy Lane Nantucket Island, Massachusetts 02554 Office of Airport Manager Phone: (508) 228-1255 HEETING March 22, 1989 Commission Chairman Charles Mayhew called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Commissioners in attendance were Alexander Craig, Ronald Russell, Ronald Santos, E. Foley Vaughan. Also attending were Manager Jo-ann M. Norris, Airfield Supervisor Bill Welch and Secretary Myrtle Eldridge. The heating system in the terminal building was reactivated due to the temporary system being in violation of State codes. After Manager Norris reviewed the options available to the Airport, a motion was M/S/P to obtain bids for a hot-air, oil fired heating system (cost is approximately $14,500) from local contractors, on the basis that this is an emergency situation. Bill Welch will contact those capable of providing this service and indicate the requirements/specifications desired and request a bid from those parties interested. Allowance for bid receipt will be one week after notice is received by potential contractor. The following revised forms were presented for review and approval: 1. Minimum Standards And Procedures For Conducting An Aircraft Fueling/Transient Parking And Tie Down Business At The Nantucket Memorial Airport. 2. Minimum Standards and Procedures For The Conduct Of Business Of A Fixed Base Operator Exclusive Of The Airport At The Nantucket Memorial Airport. 3. Fixed Base Operator License. Manager Norris advised the Commission that approval from FAA, MAC and Town Counsel should be obtained prior to distributing these forms to interested parties. A motion was M/S/P to accept these revised forms subject to additional changes and adjustments. page 1 of 2 MEETING MARCH 22, 1989 continued An additional revised form, License Agreement For Aircraft Fueling/Transient Parking & Tie Down Business, will be discussed at a meeting scheduled for March 27 at 4:30 p.m. Commissioner Vaughan requested the Commission Meeting nights be changed to Mondays at 4:30 p.m. The Commission felt this change would not pose any problems.
