The Applicants are seeking relief by VARIANCE pursuant to Nantucket Zoning By-law
Section 139-17 (Height limitations). Applicants propose to renovate the existing primary dwelling
and construct a new foundation under the structure. Though the structure, constructed in the early
1900' s, is conforming in all respects as to ground cover and setback requirements, the existing
height of the structure of about 31 feet already exceeds the maximum allowed of 30 feet. The
placement of the new foundation under the structure would increase the overall height of the
dwelling by about eight inches to one foot. The lot is conforming in all other respects except as to
frontage, with the lot having about 51.91 feet of frontage along Morey Lane in a district that requires
a minimum frontage of 75 feet.
The Premises is located at 7 MOREY LANE SIASCONSET, Assessor's Map 73.3.1, Parcel
42, is shown upon Land Court Plan 17788-D as Lot 6. The lot is situated in a Residential-2 zoning
district.
