'Mrs. Grim~s~reported on A.D.C. cases~j~Al~o reported that
State is revising its proceedure. Mrs. Thomas has taken
with Mtso Vieria. ~j~ '~
Mr. Tice reported that funds were running low in a n~b~r
departments and reco~ended asking fo~ the following ~increases'in
the~Warrant fo~ the ~special To~ Meeting. Sweeping Streets 1,800
General Repairs 2~000~ Traffic Markings 500, David Grey Memorial~
Mr. & Mrs Beers were present to-inquire what had been done
about placing rubbish barrels on beaches. Mr. Soverino stated
that he would check into the matter.
It was voted to request Er. Cash to order between V5 and 100
tons of egg coal for the Island Home.
The applications of Ann Beach and Nick Kapinko for pistol
permits were tabled.
Warrant #2V for $4,~80.29 was approved.
The following p'ermits and licenses were approved: Cook's Cycles - Soft Drinks.
Sankaty Head Beach Club - Common Victualers, Soft Drinks,
Sale of Ice Cream

It was voted to place a street light at~unction of Cottage
Land and Ocean Drive, Siasconset.
The application of'the Nantucket Cape Verdi ~erican Citizens
Club for an All'Alcoholic License was tabled pending completion
of Club organization and election of Officers.~
A letter was received from ~.~iss Farrell re to "Well Child
Conference"'recently. hel~ on Nantucket.
A letter was received from Mr Elias J. Lyon requesting an
appropriation for stairs to beach at Indian Ave. and statioE
that he would submit estimate of cost. It was voted to request
Mr. Tice to remove the poison ivy from this.area.
Mr. C. L.~~~~ was granted a no parking area ~pPosite
enterance to his garage on Gardner Street.
The complaint of Mr.~Jerome ~oncerning a dangerous tree
Lily Street was refered to the Tree Warden. ~'
A petition sig~ed by 13 taxpayers requ~st~ng~the~T0wn to
lay out and accept as a Public Highway the road known as
Harbor View Way was table~ pending additional petitions on other
private ways.~
A letter was received from Edith Mason thanking the~B0a~d
for the fine work done on back road to Wauwinet.
A lmetter~was received from the May~r of Providence, Stating.
that U.S.S.P.C.~$0 attached to the Nava$ Reserve of Providence
would visit Nantucket July 20 and~21st~ It was voted to request
Con~ander Howard U. Chase to extend a welcome to them.
~r.-Barnes confered with the Board on Tree commission
appointments, Veterans Housing appointments and the establish
ment of a Draft Board.
