Guard position at Siasconset. Mr. Coffin was authorised to get a
bull dozer to clear the Siasconset Beach.
'Mrs.'Grimes reported on A. D. C. cases.
Hr. Earl Ray reported on the Veterans Housing Program. A
survey indicated~the need'for 50 units and he requested'that we
apply for $360,000 and ha~e a special Town Meeting to vote on a
Housing Authority.
~!r. Ray requested that Cambridge St. Mzdaket be scraped
as the road was now almost impassable.
Mr. Rogers was gra~ted a permit to disturb the Sidewalk
in front of the Siasconset Book Store in order to relay a cable.
It was voted bo e~tablish No Parking areas in front of
Julian Harris property o~ Garden'Street,~Norman Hughes on Liberty
Street~ and on Orange S~reet opposite Garden Court.
~ir. Coleman reporte8 that he and Mr. Soverino inspected
the sewer beds and found them to be O.K.
Warrant #25 for 18, 382~ V2 was approved.
~r. Elwin F~i~ Francis was made a Special Police to
serve without pay.
The application of stanley Ross for a taxi~license was
denied because he was not a resident.
~ir.~William Nixon was granted Common Victualer~ Soft Drink
and Ice Cream licenses.
The Grey Gull Was~gra~tet a Common Victualers License. ~
Soft Drink Licenses were granted to Elwin Francts~
Holdgate Bros. and Ers.' S. B. Yerxa.
The Veherans of Foreign Wars were granted a permi't~bO~
desplay bycicle and have booth on I~ain Street from June 24~to
July 5th. ~
Ib was voted to request Mr. Tice to'improve Old south
Road and Crooked Lane and Road to Wallis Armstrong residence.
The Siasconset community C~ub'was granted a permit to hold
a dance June 30th as Siasconset Casiuo,
omer Bedard was granted a license~tO Operate a bakery
~ending truck in Stasconset.
-~Kenneth Pease was g~anted a Common Victualers and Soft
Drink license for the Sherburne Romm on South Eater Street.
'Mr. Theo. M. Kania was granted a license to Operate the
Town Taxi Co.,
The request for no parking area on Lily Street near
Hoi'iday Inn was Ta~led
The request of Nantucket YaCht Club for Special PoIice
on harbor was ~enied, but Special Police on their Gym property
would be appointed it names submitted.
