It was voted to have ~.~Sanguinettt draw up and circulate a petition against any change and to attend the hearing. '~ ~,~r. Tics, Houlahan and Bailey consQlted with the~Board on maintanance of Chapter 90 roads. As the paving of SparksAve would bother noons it was voted to go ahead with the work as~soon as possible and instruct the.Sewer Dept. to'hasten the sewer in South Prospect Street so the work would be done before~the road was laid. Mr. Bailey stated that he felt the State would pay for spraying trees along the State Road. A petition was received Signed by over'100 residents, requesting that containers for rubbish,be placed on the beaches most used by'the public and the laws against breaking glass on beaches be enforced. After some discussion the matter was deferre a week to see where funds could be obtained. ~rs Grimes ~eported on ADc and CAB matters. Marrant No 22 for ~9361.26 was approved. The State Dept of Public Welfare informed the Board that ' an inspection of Our Island Home would be made on June 10th, which date was satisfactory The request of The Sea Scouts to pitch two tents for Sleep- ing arrangements during their visit here July 4th was approved. Letter received' from Colby Construction Co~. asking to bid on Seal Coating work. ~. The Hospital was granted a permit~to string two banners across ~ain street during their annual drive. ~ ~r~Seddon W. Le'gg informed the Board that it would'take ~400~to improve Ve~terans Graves and requested ~00 this year. and $200~next. It was felt there might be some money available from ~emorial Day appropriation that could be used for this purpose. ~Complaints were~received absut Children breaking~?G~r~ve Stones, riding bycicles of sidewalks, and trespassing on Harbo~r House property. It was voted to refer the matter~to the Police D~pt. with instructions~to correct these conditions. The request:of ~rs. Alice C. Gardner to-prohibit parking on So. Beach Street from Sea St to Broad Street was~deferred a week mLetter~'received from Hr. Walter B.~ Lombard protesting on a night club at Henry and Walsh Sts. No request for such has been received. The request of Nrs. Coors for. im~rovemeht~of~Brant~Point road brought fourth a number of other road problems.~t was voted to'instruct Nr. Ti~e.to fill in and improve the Brant Point Road, fill in a bad hole just off the ~ow Beach road, improve the Pocoma~Road, and to repair the roads all over town where bad holes existed from cutting through pavement and bad winter conditions. It was voted~to chance John Gibbs from an Intermittant to regular Police officer. The Secretary was requested to write Gov.
