The Ballot box was then opened for inspection. It was examined by Constable Lawrence F. Mooney, Edward P. Tice; Ira W. Appleton; and Charles Clark Coffin and found to be empty. The r~gister on the Ballot box was set at O000, the box locked and the keys thereof turned over to Franklin S. Chadwick, Constable in charge. Constable Mooney presented the Warrant for the Special State Election to the Town Clerk, who then read the Warrant ~and at 7:00 A.M..declared the polls open. At 5:00 P.M. the Polls were declared closed. The register on the ballot box was then found to read 135. The follo~,ing Tellers were then sworn in: Frahk W. Ramsdell, John E. Moore Jr; Eugene Souza; Seddon W. Legg Jr; Charles W. Ellis; Charles E. ~wain; James M. Killen; Philip L. Moore; Norman Wilson; Melvin L. Ray;, Clarence H. Swift; ~The Ballots were removed from the ballot box, sorted and counted and found to be 135. The Ballot Clerks at the Gate and at the Ballot Box counted the names checked snd found lO~ ~N and 31 WOMEN, a total of 135 had voted. Nicholson. Instructions to Voters, penalty cards, voting lists and specimen ballots were posted outside the guard rail. Instructions to Voters and Penalty cards were posted in the booths. The following Ballot Clerk's were sworn in: Edward P. Tice; Ira W. Appleton; Charles H. Blount; and John J. Driscoll Jr. Wesley A. Fordyce was sworn in as Warden.
