expenditure of $14~490~54 Voted warrant approved and bills paid
~ Members'of the School Board met wit~ the~ Selectmen in~joi~t
session to elect a member to' the School Board;the names'of
Frank L,Hardy and Rev,Rtchard Strong were'submitted,on ballots
being cast,Rev.Rich~rd Strong ~as elected bo fill the vacancy~
~ The Town Counsel was present and submitted neeessary'papers
to be sent to~the Navy Department.that the town might collect
'for damages ~h~ticted when operated by that department.

of the Special p~imary election on October 28th,and'ether'forth-
coming state and national election advertising, It~was voted
that the polls be opened ~t 7,00 A.~.and closed at '5,00 P.M.'at
the special primary~election on October 28~194V when a successor
to the late Charles Lo Gilford will be elected.'
Seddon W.Legg was present-and discussed repairs that were
needed at Our Island Home. ~r.Legg was granted a Permit~ to erect
'a staging at 33.Union Street.
Mt.Mason L. Thomas informed the Board of the menace Of rats
in the residential area at B~ant Point. It was voted that Leo
Ledroix who has been doing rodent extermination'~n the island
for several years be contacted in the matter.

on October i8th,Mrs.Alcon Chadwick will act as Pub.Health Nurse
