Supt.Fra~ B~Ga~dner was p~esent at the r~quest of the Board as a result Of several comPlaint's received stating.that 'the.moth'~ or tent caterpiila~ distruction to t~ees,shrUbbery,and~ other plant li~e both in town and elsewhere~was"being destroyed to a ala~ing extent,and requested that ~ediate action be taken. Mt. Gardner stated that the pest now tnvadi~g ~he..trees,gardens, and shrUbbery of the town is the fall web wo~.He info,ed the Boa~d that the Finance Co~ittee's cut of the appropriation he requested last s spring resUlted in the money available .b~ing reduced from $1000. to'~500. The Board to refer the matter to the Town counsel. Supt.Tice conferred with the Board in regard to the proposed Road out Codfisk layout of a road at the north end of codfish Park, socalled in Park. Siasconset.It is understOod that the case which~the town preSented to the Land Court,to take over that section ,is still pending,an~ ~ . that the Land Court has not yet issued a final decree. In regard to the h~rd -su~£acing of West York Lane,Supt.Ttce West~¥ork informed that it will be necessary to move some 60 ft.of hedge, Lane. now 12 ft.high, as We~l as several fences before the workmen can begtn"the job,the cost'he considered would~be aPproximately $600. The'Board felt that inasmuch as the new road Would benefit the 'seVeral property ~0wners along this line,these property owners~ should aid the tovm by removion fences,wood-piles,hedges etc.and not expect the town to carry the extra expense.
