The Town Accountant submitted treasury 'arran~t#29 showing a Warrant
expenditure of $3,040.58 Voted warrant approved as read'& bills Pd
Mrs.Do~0thy Westcott was granted permission ~ to hold a tag day~ Tag Day
on AugUst 16,194V saturday,for the benefit of the 01d Peoples Home
Miss.Ethel Mackiernan was present to confer with the Board on
complaints received'in regard to the noise made by the mixing
machine which they claimed kePt them awake through the night hours
Mt.Anderson claimed that there was'nothing.that he coUld do to
lessen'the noise of the machine,and that he was prepa~ring to move
in September but could not do so now as further businessmwould be
lost for the season.Miss.Mackiernan for the same reason said that
she disliked to order him out of the house,as he was preparing the
new place to conduct his business,and there was no place for him ti
go in the meantime. It was voted to take the matter under advisemen
Shellfish Inspector Blount was present relative to placing of~
the buoy at the approach ~the.Island Service V~arf.As the Placini
of the buoy involved'the adjoining'wharf property oWned by ~awrenc~

Miller it was considered/to confe~ with Mt.Miller before any furthe
action would be taken,and request his cooperation wibh the Board.
~ Mfs.Phillis MacDonald,Life.Guard at the Children's Beach was
present in regard to her wage adjustment,it wasvoted that she be
granted an increase to~$30 per week.
On request of Drs.Collins an~ Cassiday,it was voted to grant
them ~no-parking signs in. front of their places of business for the
convenience of their patients,but to be used 0n!y when there was nc
ather parking space available.
~ Richard Conrad ~equested that something be done' to keep the
Water from accumilating in the road to~ approach to his bathing
beach~It was voted to instruct suPt.Tice to correct this situation.
It was vote~ that a sign be placed on S,conset Bathing Beach
stating the hours that the Life Guard is off duty.
Voted'to write~a letter to Ralph H.0sborn,Director of Fisheries
and Game explaining the circumstances attendi~ the reason for the
Mt. Grant's
request for/~1~E resignation,~nd enclosing a copy of letter to him.
