i. John W.Church,Manager of the Sa~katy Head Beach Club was.grant
~ed the following licenSes; common VictUalers,Soft drinks, ice cream
~Mrs.Geo.Burgess Jr.and several other r~Sidents.of Broad Street
m'~ere Present to protest the Board's gr~nting the return of the
former clo~ing hours of the Ocean House lounge. After a lengthy
discussion the board informed them that all and every accusation
made by them shOUld be.presented to the Board In writlng.
Leon Royal was present to inform the Board that'during the
operation of the removal of a tree limb by the Tree Warden the
limb fell'on the roof of his house making a hole thru the roof. It
was voted that Selectman Coffin be alcommittee to view the~damage
and interview the Tree Warden and report his findings to the Boar~
Robert Waine was granted permission to open the sidewalk at
his residence ll.York St. The Supt.of'Highways to be notified.
Vote~ that a letter be written to th'e Police DePartment that.
as they~had previously beene'Instructed,as a part'of their duty to
make'the'round of p~em~ses where liquor is being served to the
publtc,snd that no special notice'should be necessary.
'SuPt.Tice was present to discuss the matter of the condition
at tne"sconset 'Beach; as the beach line having changed du~ing
last winter it was Considered necessary that some kind of a beach
line should be created,and that by employing a bull-~ozer this~
could be'done. It was voted to authorize Mr.Tice to,employ the bul
dozer for a'few days,and to oversee the necessary work. Mr.Ttce
also informed the board that a number of hedges abou~ town created
a hazard to traffic,and needed'clipping in order that motorists
could have a clear view at street corners,and stated that the
law Stipulates that the tree warden do that kind of work. ' ~.
