SeverinG, Glidden,.Hardy,.'Smith and RaY. Miss Grace Henry and Mr.'Roy Sanguinetti were also present. The following'is a complete record/of the me~t~ng. HEARING_ FIRE cHIEF WILLIAM J. BLAIR Selectmen's Rooms . January 29', 1947. - V:30 p. m. He~ing Chief Blair ,Mr. SeverinG: Will the meeting 'please come'to order. ,Mr. ,Blair would you come up here with the Selectmen? Mr. W. Blair: I would'like to ask the chairman.of the board if this is to be a hearing. SeverinG: Yes, this is a hearing. W.' Blair: In that case, I would like to be represented bY my son. . ~-- R. Blair: Under the circumstances I would like to ask for a postponement until proper counsel can be secured. Arrangement have been made but ,a definite answer has not been received. Soverino: Has anyone any ob.Jections to a p~stponement being gr~nted? ' ~Olidden: I haven't any objection. ~'¢Soverino: Can you give us some idea how much time you need? R. Blair: ! will explain in this mannerL-I' wanted bo look at the' reco~d of the blotter in the Police Station and was refused. The Chief ~aid that tt~e' Only authority he would recognize would be a member of the Board of Selectm~ or a court or'der. Mr;' Ray Was kind ~nough to ~ecure permission to see the blotter bug not in time. Th~ delay was evident. A 'delay of three 'and one-half hours was made which spoiled any communication we ho.d 'with the mainland. I really Can~ tell you when tonight. Arrangements have been made for counsel, .SeverinG: Could we Setla date for an evening next week. R. Blair: I don't believe I can answer that. it's impossible to know until tomorrow morning. -.Soverino: I would like to ask.one'question. We are securing the services of Judge'Poland and he' won't be here until the thirteenth of February'., -~ sanguinetti: Have You'received ~ reply? R. Blair: I talked ~ith his partner. So~erino: I may be wrong but it seems quite necessary if we are going to adjourn this meeting We should postpone toga definit~ date. R. Blair: Mr. Chairman, I would like to ask for a postponement Court. Soverino: Any member ~f the boa~d any Comment on the question? S'anguinetti: 'It's all right~ Hardy: I think it's only fair.
