It was ~ote'd unanimously to request Representative'C~rus .Barnes
oppose a bill recently filed in th~ legislature which Would
prohibit, the sale of striRed bass.
'The Board Voted unanimously to give the Nantucket ~own Crier
.~0% of town advertising and town printing,following a request

' Le'~and Topham was present to 'protest ~gainst the bilI which
would impose a fine of $80. to ~lOO. for voilating provisions of
the proposal,to prohibit the sale of striped bass at any time.
~. It was 'voted that ~ ~'a quantity' 0f large oysters be
taken fr'om the deep wate~ beds at Nadaket Harbor and transferred
int"o shoal' water' to be available to persons for f~ily use,the
work to be done by'the Shellfish Inspector. ' .
