The members present were
A regular meeting of the Board was held on October

Soverino, Gliddens and Smith.
The Town Accountant presented Treasery Warrant ~13 showing and expenditure
~B,864.75. It was voted that Warrant be approved as read and bills be paid.
uhester ~. Pease requeste~ permission to move a building on Hulbert Avenue
and one on Jefferson Avenue. The request was granted.
Resignation of Earl S. Ray, Secretary of Finance Committee, was received·
Mr. Ray resigned to join the U.,S. Navy. It was voted that lit. Ray's resignati¢
be accepted.
Cliffor A. Eddy requested a renewal of his seasonal retail ~all-alcoholic
beverag~,~pack~ge,store license to sell at store at corner of Main Street and
Elbor Lane~ SiasCo~set, Mass., one room first floor. Cellar for storage only.
Voted that the application-take the usual course.as prescribed by lav~.
Felemena C. Ryder requested'~ ~enewal of her retail package goods store
all-alhoholic bever~age license to ~S at 5? and 59 Orange Street, one room,

A letter was received from Roland M. Doffin that Ellison Fields was em-
ployed by ,him~ to Care for the S'conset Dump during his absence from the island.

A letter to the B~ard signed by Harriet E. P~rker, Clara Parker,'Ida Pa~ker
and Landon Barnes, protesting against granting a permit to allow the mainteflance
of a bowling-alley in a building on the South side of MainStreet, known as the
Modern or any other building in that vicinity. Voted that the letter be t~aken
up in connection with the request for a per:nit for a bowling-alley.
Applications were remeived from Harrison Gorman and Robert Hardy as candidat,
to fill the vacancies on the Finance Conmmittee caused by the resignations of
George Jones and Earl Ray, t~ey having joined the armed forces. Voted that the
applications be tabled for one week.
The Town Clerk was present to notify the Board that there would be an over-
draf~ on election ezpences caused by prepari~ the booths etc. Voted that the
Board authorize an over-draft.
The Budget of the Nantucket Mosquito Control ~roject was submitted for I943
in the amount of~$3,128. Voted filed~tutil.time to put article in Town Warrant.
The reports for the month of October were received of A.D.C. and 0.A.A. and
