The Town Accountant presented War~ant-#34 ' amounting to
$8o83.5o.,
'The Sia Sconset Casino was granted permission to sell
beer on Tuesday, September 1st.
The Publicity Committee requests a transfer of $200.00 to
meet the additional expense caused by the sending of the
'special letter early in the season.. It was voted to take the
Same from the Selectmens' Account.
A petitiSn was received for the release of Antone'Correla
from Norfolk signed by 67 persons. The letter was turned over
to the clerk of the County CommiSsioners.
A communication was rec6ived from the Sewer Commissioners
relative to the Surface wa~er c~ondition on India Street. It
was voted to request them to re-submit the article from the
.1941 Warrant to the next Term Neeting.
Reports were received from'the Old Age Assistance and
Dependent Children for August.
It was voted to send a letter of appreciation to each
and every individual who in any way assisted at the Selectmens'
Outing. , _ ·
Nr. John L. Hardy informed the Board that he would submit
his resignation because of his enlistment in the Coast C~ard.
He.expressed his pleasure at having served with the Board and
his regrets at having to leave. The Chairman of the Board
expressed his regrets that Mr. Hardy felt it necessary to
,resign, and the Board voted that when his resignation was
received from the Term Clerk that it be accepted with deep
regret.
The monthly report of the Welfare Department for August
was received. It was voted to instruct the Clerk of the
County commissioners to write to George Lewis, i~carcerated,
at Barns~abl~ explaining why his parole was not granted.
