HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-08-20Meeting held August 20, 1942. The Meeting was called to order with all Members present. The Town'AccoUntant presented Warrant #33 amounting to $1,093.39. The same was voted to be Paid as read. Permission was granted ~t© the Neighb0rs~ t.o c.loMg Easy Street and North Wharf during the annual festival. A report ~s received from Dr. Leach ~elative to the death of the Grime's cows. · Rent of $250.00 was received for the rent of the Bathing Beach from Leslie Martin. Permission was granted to Manuel Barboza to conduct a dance in Legion Hall from 9 - I September 3rd. Mr. George Wood of India Street met with the Board to discuss the situation relative to the surface water conditions on India Street as it had developed into a unhealthy nuisance. It was voted to call1 the matter to the attention of the Sewer commissioners and ask them for a recommendation as to estima- ting the cost. The Board signed the Contract for the Chapter #90 main- tenance Work. Mr. John Blazer was appointed to the Rationing Board to replace Mr. Howard Chase. A letter was r~ceived from Mr. Lester Folger relative to the assessment on some land. It was voted to turn the eom- munication over tb~the Town Counsel fo~ advice. The Meeting adjourned at 9:50 PM.
