The ~eeting was. called to order by the Chairman with all
I'f. embers present.
The T0~m Accountant presented Warrant #'30 mmounting to
~t.~ 8VO V8 The saree was voted to be paid as read
An application was received for a sidewalk Art Show as of
other yea~.s to be held Auf-~ust 1V, ].8 and 19th. ~,~r. Dennis to
assist in putting up the Back Boards, the smue was granted to
~f'rs Hoz f. ne~er
It was voted to request Mr. Tice to replace the sign on
the children's beach stating it is closed'after a certain hour
also to have the police chec?, the children's beach several
times d!.~ring the night.
Yiss Farrell was granted permission to attend a Public
Health ~.:~eeting in New Bedford August 6th, she to pay her
travelling expenses and the Tovm to take care of her sdbs.titute
i:~r s ~; '~.~'i o omey.
The Secretary menti'oned the name of the new Airport being
cal!6d Harrison Gorman. The Board gave favorable comment, but
did not wish to take any action.
At this time, !.~.r. Wesley Fordyce haiing been appointed by
the Executive Con~ittee of the Public Safety to be the new
Chairman, the ~Board approved of the s~ae.
A report was received from the 01d Age Assistance and Aid
to Dependent Children.
A beer license was granted to the Siasconset Casino for
-th_e~:eiening of ~ugust 19th.
The ~uatter of the Siasconset Police was tabled.
The matter of parking cars in front of the Pacific Club
was discussed~'at some' length 'and taken under advisement.
The Board Of Welfare's Report Sho.(;~d a saving of ~6~48o.14
over the previous year.
