' VOting started at once. At 2:00 P.M. the register on the ballot box standing at ... 408 the box was opened by Charles C; Chadwick, Constable 'in'charge and the ballots removed to the'emergency b~llot .box,.ifi the presence-of Edward P.' Tice and'Charl&s~Clark Coffin.' The ballot box was again locked and voting resumed.- ' "At 4:55 P.M. the Town~cl~rk'ann0un'csd.that'the'poils ..woUld close'in'five ~inutes. At 5:00 P.M.-the'polls were declared'closed.' People'inside' the ~Ail were allowed to Complete and cast'their'ballots.
