'~' The Finance committee of the Town of NantUcket met in Legion Hall December 18, 1941~at V:30 P.N."and held a public hearing on the articles in,the Warrant for a special Town Meeting on December 29 and~our recommendations are as follows: ,~ ~:, ~ ~, ~,~ ~. Article~II · : To receive reports from 'committees which shall come before this meeting. We recommend that reports from com- mittees be received., ., ~ Article III : .... To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the Ex- cess and Deficiency Account a sum not to exceed Ten Thous- and ($10,000). The same to be used to purchase equipment and supplies for Nantucket Public Safety. We recommend that the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) be transferred from the Excess and Deficiency Account; the same to be used to purchase equipment and supplies for Nantucket.Public Safety, in'compliance with Chapter 487 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the heading: An Act to Authorize Cities and Towns to make certain emergency appropriations in time of War or National Emergency. We further'recommend that all Expenditures of the Public Safety Committee shall be approved by the Board of Selectmen. George W. Earl Ray: Mr. Moderator:, I herewith submit the report and reco~endations-of.the Finance Co~ittee for the Special Tovm Meeting of December 29th. Moderator: The next article to come before this meeting is headed Article 3.
