The' meeting came to order at'7~30 PM a~l members of the Board
being present.
Warrant No.,49'totalling $33,42g~44 was presented by Tgwn Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the'previous,,meeting were read and ap~z0v~d.
Mr. Jaeckle, Supt. of streets reported that he had made an exam-
ination of the Old south road where it crosses "the airport
runway approach with the Eng. Mr. Janowsky and that in his
opinion it would be cheaper and easier to stop the present
old south road at the airport and then run a new road
in from the State Highway starting on the Sconset side of
the airport clear approach zone and running in to'the Old
South road, he presented a sketh outline of this idea and
after discussion the Board voted to.refer,the matter^to
the county clerk andhave him set up a hearing on same for
January 6th 1960, and to have Mr. Barrett, eng. flag the
proposed area so that it can be seen at the hearing.
The Board discussed the matter of bids on the printing of the
town report and it was voted to request a representative
from each of,the local papers to meet with us next'week
at out meeting to discuss this matter.

A letter was received from John Mill~ requesting that 'the NO.
parking area in fron of his store on S. water St. be chan
to a 10 of 20 Min. parking area. Inasmuch as the Board was
also in receipt of a suggestion from Chief,Howes that
the winter we allow parking on this Aide from India to Ma
this'latter was voted, with Mr. Millers request tabled'for
the Board to examine same at the start of next season.
Mr. Albert Johnsen Si. was granted a renewal of~ his permit to
transport garbage Ch. 111 Sec. 3lA -~,
At the request of the tree commission the Board voted to.inquire
of the Town counsel as to the restriction§ on the use of
the Town Park land'opPosite the Sea Cliff.
A letter was received from Mr. Chsf Houston lessee of Camp Se~ ~
Island, the day qamp at the Jetties Beach area, requesting
thai he be allowed to sublease same or that h~ lease be
cancelled and the Board negotiate for a new lease direct.
It was voted to advise that-we would accept the latter
Suggestion of canc~llinghis lease.
Congdons Pharmacy was granted a renewal of their Soft'drink and
Ice Cream licenses. ~
~ Allen Holdgate d~a Airport Snack Bar was grante~"a"r~newal of
his Common Vict. and Ice cream licenses.
Sunny Acres Dairy Bar was granted a renewal of their Common Vitt
and Ice Cream licenses.
An application was received from Roger Young for appointment to
the Nantucket ~inance Committee and tabled at this time.
Mr. Meilbye suggested that th'e Board consider the matter of
the town purchasing the former Crosby Memorial, property/
for town use.
The Board discussed the matter of sewer entrance fe~s and it was
voted to request the Sewer Commission to meet with us next
week at our meet.ing to discuss this matter.
The Board then went into executive session and adj. at 9.45 PM.

The matter ot r~equesting' the "C'i$ii Sefvlce to h 'igh
waiver.to Mr. gos.Rezendes who is~presen~ly serving on
the=police'force so that he might talce the Civil'Service
exam was-discussed and voted to Reqeust Rep; Mooney~to
~ look into this i matter.
Voted ~o have a.yello~~line (no parking) on the N. side of India
street at the corner of Liberty
A letter was received from Mrs CarleY with refe~e~c~ to an
.. _ Incinerator at the old Marshall Barrett prop. on Husseg'
st. and as it appeared from information ~he Board had that
the property was to be occupied by a different tenant, no
action was~taken a~ this time.
Vofed to approved-the installation fo a street light on Sparks
Avenue near the Don Allen garage.
