7.30 PM all members of the Board except Mr.'Glidden being
present, he coming in at 8PM.
Minutes of the previous .meetin~ were re~d a~nd appr. ov~d.
Warrant No. 47 totalling $7,233.75 Was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Shellfish Warden Francis was present and submitted two ammend-
ments to the act with reference to netting aboutthe shores
of the island, it was voted that same to forwarded to Rep.
Mooney for the necessary legislation to make these ammend-
ments a part of the act.
Warden Francis was authorized to purchase necessary equipment
'such as rakes tools etc. for the shellfish dept. and instr
to see that said equipments was property stamped~ with the
name of the Town.
"'A form letter was' received from the Div.~of Marine Fisheries on the value of Marshlands to marine life and filed.
Mr. Gelinas of H?annis was present and asked the Boards con~
sideration and support to allow him to operate the Steamer
Marthas Vineyard to Nantucket this matter was discussed at~''
some length it being the sense of the feeling of the Board
that Mr. Gelinas purchased the Marthas Vineyard knowing of
the tonneage restriction and that as members of the authority
we had no alternative but to support the authority.
Copies of letters sent at ~ur requsst by Rep. Mooney 'to the
DPU relative ~the the lack of Boat and Bus connection and to
the matter of rotary,traffic at the Milestone were received
'and placed on.file ' Secy. Glidden reported that he had'been
adirised after conversation with
that. the necessary change in the Boat sch. would be made so
that it connected w~th the Boston bus.
A letter and outline of advertising proposed was received from
the Harry Frost Adv. ~agency, and ~igned and approved by the
Board.
Letters were received from Senator Saltonstall and Cong' Keith
relative to our inquiry as to the Fed. Aid highway program
in'cluding ferries etc. and advising that they would advise
us further on these matters.
The following applications for renewal of alcoholic beverage
licenses were received and voted
by laW, Nant. Spa dn Spa Cafe; F. Rebimbas,'Sankaty Golf,;
The Islander Inc.-It was voted to authorize the Secy. to
Adv. any other applications which he might receive~ before
Friday.
A supplement to the Salary Schedule covering the Island Home was
received from the Salary'study committe and filed.
' There;being no further business the Board went into executiv~e
session and adj. at 9.45 PM.
