The meeting came~to'0rder at 7.30 PM all members of the' Board,
being present. ~-
Warrant No. 42, t6talling $16,285.48 was presente'd by Town Acct~
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous.meeting were read and, apP~0ved.
The Legion 7~uX~ was granted a permit f~r ~a Poppy day on 31 Oct.
The matter of square road under old business was discussed and
it appeared that while the road ;vas OK one section needed
an area where a car could turn out to pass, and it was
voted to refer this matter to the Supt. of Streets.
A letter from Prank'L' Thomp&on requesting attention to a road
near the old Starbuck farm was referred to the Supt. of,~
street for attention.
A letter was received from Mr. Sam Sylvai, fo~ the Islander Inc,
calling the Boards attention to 'the fact that he had re-
cently been granted a year round wine and malt license at
a fee of,$250.00 per year, that as is the~case with other
establishments which have a seasonal all alc oholic'lic
and a year round wine and malt that the wine and malt is.
actually good for the months of Dec. Jan. Peb. & March and
that he obtained this license in the fall and actually will
only get one months use from it and requesting that the
Board consider an abatement of a portion of this fee. It
was voted to abate threfourths of this fee.
A letter was received from Rep. Mooney advising that in acc--
ordance with the Boards request he would confer with Mr.
Willis, House Counsel to draw up a bill to give.the Authoril
at their discretion to operate out col Hyannis..~
The matter of the bus and boat schedule was disu~ssed'and it
~ ~ was voted to write the Almeida Bus line and the Authority
on this matter, and ask that~ they' work together on their'
schedules.
It was voted to extend the season for the taking of Clams, thru
the month-of November, ~ Sundays only.
There being no fur~ther business the Board went in~o~ executive
session to disucss welfare matters and adj. at 9.3o PM.

Island Home,~Voted to retain Mr. Gilbert' Burchell as maintaince
man starting 1 NOV. at rate of 65.00 per.week with under-
standing that when appointment~ are made the~latter part
of March that we would be appointing a permanent man to
job. ' '
It was voted to establish visiting hours at {)ur Island Home
in accordance with a sch. presented by Mrs Slosek as follows
2 to 4 in the afternoon and 6 to 8 in the evening, No childr,~n
under 12 unless~they~have special permission. No animals.
VisitOrs to ask permission before goig into other patients
rooms. Visitors may tour the home only if accompanied by a
nurse. Special visits outside of regular hours Day be made
by contacting the supervisor.
