The meeting~cam'e to order at 7.30 PM all member's 'of the Board'
being present.
Warrant'No. 39, totalling $18,168.75 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
blinutes of the p~evious meeting~were read and approved.,
Mr. William Burdick Sr. was present and again requested con-
sideration for the 'job of street sweeper.
A report was received from the Info. bureau as to Sept. business
and placed on file.
A letter was received from Mr. Wm. Perkins, School principal wit!
reference to the Stop sign at Gay street, the Board again
discussed this matter but felt lhai the existing signs were
adequeate.
Mr. Frank F. Sylvia was granted a renewal of his Auctioneers ~ license.
The V~W,reqeusted lhe substilulion of Donald Conway lo replace ~
Leroy Viera on lheir fire and police palrol.and same was~
approved.
A form letler warning of lhe damgers of lead poi~ining from
children knawing on painled surfaces was read and filed.
The matter ofinsura~-ce coverage for~the caretaker of the town
clock was discussed and voted to check on this matter with
insurance agent.
Voted to write th~ steamship authority as to whe*her and when
they were going to schedule meetings at the various comm-
'unities as suggested by-the Board some' time ago.
Application of the Island Sightseeing Tours Inc. for a permit
to store gasoline in underground tank 1;000 gal for private
use at their garage off Polpis Rd. was received and date
for hearing set for 10AM on Wed. 14 Oct. 1959'
