Meet!ng 2- Sept. 1959. , ' ; The meeting came to order"at 8PM all members of the Board being present except Mr. Meilbye, who came in later. ~ Warra6t No. 3-5, 'totalling $11,869.49 was presented ~y Town Acct[ Barrett and'checked .and approved by the Board., Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. " Mr. Richard Everett was present and requested a ~treet 'light on Old North Wharf, cited various instances of disturbances in the area which he felt a light would correct. Voted to approved the installation of a street light down near the end on the wharf. A letter was received from Mr. and Mrs Irving Stanley relative the the guest house controversy and placed on file. Mr. Gerald Stanley was present ~and requested approval of a change in date. of weekly dance at the Dias Skating rink this week from Sat. to Monday, Labor day with closing time of 2AM. Voted approved. A letter was received from Gov. Furcola 'with reference to a conference on problems concerning youth and placed on filed, A letter was received from the Madaket Conservation Asso. report] ~g on their annual meeting and advising that they~would inset an article in the'annual warrant for an appropriation to maintain the dunes etc in the Broad creek crossing area, and requesting that in the interim the,town continue its program of putting up snow fnece in the fall. ? A request for a stop sign on Gay St. corner of Westminster was ' voted referred to the Supt. of street and the Chief'of Police to look at and advise. The Board then went into executive session to discuss welfare matters and adj.' at 10 PM. Selectmens Meeting 2 sept. 1959 Executive Session: " 'The application of Bmi{y Christinsen for'admission to t~e , Island Home was'discussed, and it appearing that Miss~ Christina was aged, unable to take care of herself and with no resources it was voted that she be admitted to the Island Home as a welfare p~tient. 'Voted to write-Sewer Commission on why necessary to purchase a jacket for one Waseriski, also on the matter of why it was necessary to hire a pump from Voorneveld, and question' again if the sewer entrance fee now beingcharged is currentl correct.
