A'special meeting of the Board'of ielectm~n and the members
the Public Relations Committee was'held this date for the'purpose
of discussing the matter of whether or not,to'accept the large
and small maps as printed by the Nantucket Town Crier in per-,
formance of a bid dated 12 Aug. 1959.~, ' - ,

The matter of said~maps was~discussed'and the t~o samples sub-
mitted to the bidders as specifications and the two maps as~
printed by the Town Crier were before the meeting. Upon examinati,
it appeared that the small map was printed on different.co'or '
and different texture than the sample as submitted, and that
the large map was printed on lighter stock and that on the large
map the printing of the streets on the back-of same showed throug!
quite heavily on the front. -~
This matter was discussed and before.the Board was a letter
dated 25 Aug. 1959 from Mr. Golden, initaled by members of
the Public'relations committee, except Mr. Hard~ advising tha~
they had~instructed Mr. Golden to notify us of their decision
to reject.the 20,000 small maps and the 5,000 large maps for the
reason that they were not as per the samples submitted to the
bidder. ,,
After discu~sion'~f this matter it was o~-motion mad~ and seconde¢
Voted: .To advise'the Town Crier that this.printing .job could not
be accepted 'due to the fact that same did not comply with the
samples submitted as to stock and that the printing of the streets
on the back of the large map show through on the front.
