meeting came tO order at 8PM all members of the Board beihg
· present.~
Warrant No ~'20, totalling $12,375.~4 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of~the previous meeting w~re read and approved.
The Board was in receipt of advices from Mr..Gilbert Burchell Jr.
and Mr. Charles Davis with reference to,the number of men
they would propose to use to carry out the,conditions of
the Specifications for Art; 30 (cleaning beaches) and how
tjey would handle this job. This matter was discussed later
by the Board and it was voted to award this contract to
Gilbert Burckell Jr. for the bid price of $2500.00 dollars.
Mr. Manuel Souza, shellfish' warden was'present ~nd discus~o~: _
matters relating to his department with the Board,, advised
that he was making wire net bags for placing in Sesachacha
Pond to catch oysert spat. ~'
Mr. Arthur Desrocher C. D. Director was present and the Ch. signe,
an application to obtain C.D. surplus fire equipment kits.
The ~matter Of the application of Nant' Iai.Prod. Co. Inc. dba,
Cap'n Tobeys Chowder Bar for an all alocholic on premises
common vier. license was before the board and same having
been advertised and no objections b~ing r~ceived same
was'voted approved.
Bi~s were ~eceived as follows for-the printing of 30,000 envelops
for the public relations committee: ,-
Nant. Town Crier $368.50; Inq ~ Mirror $367.00 same was
voted awarded the lowest bidder the Inquirer & Mirror.
A letter ~as received from local electricians, MadConald, Blair,
Rogers~ Jewett, Godfrey and Cartwright requesting that Mr.
John Gaspe be appointed to the position of wire inspector
to fill the vacancy left by.the death of Mr. Blount, an "
application was also received from Mrf Gaspe and Mr.~Arthur
, Robertson, after some discussion it was voted that Mr. Gaspe
be appointed to this job, with the suggestion that he call
a meeting of the local electricians and go'over.policy etc.
It was Voted to write the Nant. Atheneum Library Asso. with ref-
. to the town using a portion of_their property for off the
street parking inasmuch as the former candy kitchen bldg.
is to soon be removed.
Mothers of planned playtime were granted a permit for a well'chil
clinic on the 15th and 16th of June, the previous dates
having been cnacelled.
Mr. J. Gordon MacDonald was granted a renewal of his common vici.
license dba Downeyflake Doughnut Shop.
A ~etter was received from N.E. Airlines in reply to our request relative to a middle of the day through flight from N.Y.
'~r. Thomas McGrath was granted a renewal of his Junk Dealers
license.
Mrs Ralston in behalf of the Nant. Ga~dne club was granted a
permit for a bazaar on July 9th and 10th.
Mr. Luth&r Fernald dba Th~'India House was granted a lodging
house license at asiad place of business.
Miss Isabell Carter Duckery was granted a permit t sell box lunc~ at S. Prospect. St. Town

M~. Linwood Procter was ~ppoin~ed a public weigher to serve at
the Nant. Const. Co.
Therebeing no further business the Board Went'into executive
session to discuss welfare matters and a~j; at'll PM.
