Warrant No. 16, 'totalling $15,954.98 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were'read and approved. The matter of the fireworks display was discussed and it"was voted to instruct Mr. Caton that we felt the proper night to have same was on the 4th of July. .~ Mr. Herbert P. Smith in behalf of the Spanish War Vet was pre- sent and requested that the appropriation for Memorial Day and other patriotic holidays be under the supervision of the Spanish War. Vet. assisted by the V.F~W. and the- American Legion as in other years and it was so Voted. Mr. A~drew O. Lewis, caretaker of the town dump was present and discussed the bulldozing of th~ dump and also,asked .that the Board consider the matter of having regular hours of dumping so that same could be con%rolled. It was suggest that Mr.- Lewis obtain figures from owners of bulldozers on a per hour basis and bring them before the Board next week with his recommendations. On the matter of closing the dump it was voted to ask the opinion of the Town counsel as to how same could be enforced. Coffin.14~.00 same was voted awarded to the lowest bidde: Mr. Kenneth'Coffin. same to be opened under supervision of Shellfish warden. It was voted to write a letter to the police dept. relative'to litter on the Madaket road. ~ An app%ication was received from a S. W. Feldman requesting an Ice Cream and'soft drink license on premiess~to be erected at the comer'of S.'Water and Sea streets and same was voted approved subject to approval of the Historic Dist. Commission and inspection'of the premises when ready to ope~ It was reported that there was a dead deer on the Beach at P6comc and it was suggested that the Secy. contact Mr. Kenneth. '~offin and see-if he would dispose of same. -~ The mothers of Planned Playtlme were granted a permit for a Well- Child Clinic on April 29th and 30th. ,. The matters of bidding the cleaningof beaches etx was disucssed and same was tabled until next week to allow the suggested specilicatons to,be drawn up. It was voted to have Chief Howes and Harbor Master Blount-meet with us next week to discuss mutual problems. .Th~rBo~rdgthen went into executive:session-to discuss Welfare matters and adj. stol0. 15 PM.
