Warrant Nod 15, totalling $26,798.35 was presented by Town 'Acct. Barrett and checked and apprgved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting ~ere read and approved. Mr Devine'of the Boston Mutual Ins. Co.'and Mr. Rogers of'the Blue Cross and Shield were present and went over with ~he Board their experience with the Town group over ,the past year and advised that the cost estimate for the new contrac would increase slightly as follows: Single Family Life Ins.Only. Life I~s. 3.48 3.48 3.48 Blue C~oss 5.29 14.73 _ -- ~ ~ ,~--i'8'7'.".".'~- 3~8 Employee pays 4.38 9.10 1~74 Town 4.39 9.11 1.74 Increases oave the previous rates are 21¢: 40¢~ i0¢ After discussion of this,matter it was voted to renew the towns insurance contracts with these companied for an ~dditional year at the rates as quoted. Mr. Joseph Caton Ch. of the committee organizing the fireworks displag for the fourth of july weekend was present and, advised that if we could have this display on the 5th of July a Sunday evening we could get a larger display for the same amount of,money. This matter was table for a week , to see if there was anyone opposed to same. Mr. Jesse Eldridge was present and went over with the Board the - interior colors for the comfort station'in Sconset. Colors - approved were Trim Terrace-Green, Walls surf green, Dutch Boy semi gloss. ' Mr. Arthur Desrocher C. D. Director was present and submitted a disaster plan for the~rmmoval of records from the Tonw and county office bldg. same was approved and to be posted at the town bldg. Bids on the prin~i~g of tickets for the 300th birthday committee '- as specified were received as~follows: Town Crier ........ 3000 'tickets -34.65 Inq. & Mirror 3000 tickets 24.40 It was voted that same be awarded the lowest bidder- the Inquirer & Mirror. Road contract bids~for general work-and a seperate bid on' th~ parking area at the Jetties Beach Art. 32 were received and opened as follows: Using the total estimated quanties ~ in the specifications the total bid of the Nant. Const.- Co. on general work was 19,722.00 and Walter Glowacki 20,735.75 it was voted that same be awarded the lowest bidder the Nant. Const. Co. The bid on Art 32 was Nant. Const. Co. 50¢ on grading' and 1.00 on driveways and confrere surfacing 9.90 per ton Walter Glowacki was .80¢ on grading 10.00 for driveways and 10.50 per ton for concrete surfacing. Same was voted awarded the lowest bidder the Nant. Const. Co. It was voted to advertise for bids to be in n~xt w~ek for the opening of Sesachacha Pond. The Board approved a pole location request for the Gas & Elec. Co. at the Jetties beach in connection with a street light at the parking area., _ i ;~fpa~'e .. Mrs Arthur Stetson was granted a renewal of her Innholdrs License dba as the Stetson House N. Water St. Town ..... ', Notice was received from the DPW of apProyal 'of 4000 for ch,.. 90. maint anance. ,. Mt. Charles Chambers was granted a permit for a horse drawn carri ,ge. Robert LloYd dba. Sea Cliff Inn In~. was granted a ren'ewal'0~,a ~ Sunday entertainment permit for recorded background music. subject to approval of the Dept. Public Safety. Renewal applications ,for seasonal all alcoholic beverage licenses were received from Sea Cliff Inn. Inc. and Franc~s Martin~ dba The Mad Hatter and voted to take the course Prescribed by' law. ' It was voted to request the Supt..of streets to fill in some holes on Williams St. between Orange and Pleasant.. T~e IOOF 16dge was granted a permit for a parade from the Boat ~ the lodge rooms on 25 April 1959. Notice was received from the American Legion post of th~}designat of'Seddon W. Legg Sr., as Veterans Graves Reg.' officer and the Board appointed Mr. Legg as caretaker of Vet.-gra~es. It was voted to-write N.P.Airlines relative to'resche'duling fligh~ 704 from N.Y. to Nantucket direct rather than first going Hya is ,to nn .
