Warrant No. 8~ totalling $11,935.60 was )resented by Town Acct.:
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes ~f the previous meeting and the organizational meeting ~
" of the Board were read and approved. '
Mr. Joseph Caton was ,present as regards the fireworks 'display.
on 3 July 1959 as voted by the annual town meeting and
it was voted to approve a permit for same at the Jetties
Beach area, on the harbour side.
Town Register of Deeds, Josiah ~-. Barrett'wrote requesting
thorization to proceed with ordering new camera equipment
as voted for the registry under art. 97, but it was voted
to ask the register to provide us with more information
on this matter before pro, ceeding with same.
A letter was received from Rep. Mooney congratulating the Board
on its election, and also advising that the.Steamship
authority bills had been marked for committee bearing on
11 March 59 at 11 AM.
The Bonds of the Treasurer and Tax Collector were received and
it appearing that same were in the amounts 'as .certified
by the Dept- of Corp. and Taxation same were approved and'
voted forwarded to the Commissioner for approval.
The matter Of the application,of the Tel ' Tel and Nant 'Gas and
Elec. Cp. for pole locations on Massassoit Rd. having been
' sent to the abutters and no objections having been noted,
smne was voted approved'
The r~atter of the estimated seasonal population' as of 10' July
.for.the purpose of granting"seasonal'alcoholic beverage
licenses was discussed and it was voted that same be set
at the figure of'16,100 the same as lastyear.
A letter Was~received -from Edith R. Mason relative to Square road
and placed on file.
A 'letter was ~eceived from Mrs William Winsl0w ahd Hele~ Wi~slow
thanking the Board for its consideration of Mr. Winslow
former shellfish officer who had deceased. ;
A ietter was received from Richard Appleton, of the Cape Cod
~ Council Boy Scouts of America thanking~fhe Board and throu
.it the various' town dept. heads for consideration given
~ _, ' Scouts on Good government day. ~
It was voted~to advertise for applications for town a~d county
appointive positions to be in the hands of the Board by
7.30 PM ~qed. 11 March 1959 and to point out in the adv.
that the various positions.open could be determined by
an examinatSon of the Town report pages 7-thru 11. Also
have meetings with various applicants to discuss qualifi
It was voted to meet with Jack Putterick at the Jetties Beach'
~. on Monday at 3.30 Phi to go over necessary work at same.
The'B~ard then went into executive session to discuss Welfare
Matters and adj. at 10 PM_.
Welfare:
Voted write Sewer Commission and Siasconset Water Commissign thai

Voted Write Pl. dept. relative '~o enforcing' parking regulations
and also request ,that they ,maker an active attempt to
aprehend litterbugs with especial attention to those
throwing bottels out on the parking area at'the Jetties
Beach.
Voted to determine from the Gas and Electric. Co., the cost and
feasability of erecting street light at parking area'
at Jetties to deter parkers and litte,rbugs.
The matter of-telephone booths at iso'lated beach areas ~O'-'assist
.,in emergencys wsa discussed and voted to determine cost
,, and p~actibility of same.
