Warrant'~No. 4, totalling.$20,~598.39 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of ~he previous meeting were read and~approved. Chief Howes was present an~ suggested %0 the Board that the following changes be made in the traffic regulations of the Town: S. Water street, West side from Pearl to Main- no parking year round; Old North Wharf from S. Water to Easy street, no parking on S. side, marked as loading zone and on the N. side one half~hour parking, also One way from S. water to Easy going West. Federal street from Pearl to Main two way traffic, and parking on the West side Petal to Main ten minute. Also suggested thai Center street from Broad to Lily which is-now officially one way but which has never been makred, be made officially two way to avoid any misunderstandig. Suggested that 'the circle' on the cliff, near Indian Ave. be marked rotary. 'On motion duly made .and seconded it was voted to change ~ 'the traffic rules and orders as above recommended. Mr. William Burdick, street cleaner was - present 'at the request of the Board and was advised that we were dissatisfied with the manner in which he.had been doing this job. Notice was.received from the Barnstable County' Hosp~~that our share of the deficit of same this year would be $24,a28.81.. A letterLwas'received from the Dept. of Commerce relative to the Brockton fair and voted referred to the Public relations committee. An application was received from Donald Hardenbrook for a curb at his property on Mill street ~and same was filed with other · applications for curbs until after-Town Meeting. Milda All~n dba Allens Lobster grille was granted a renenwl of_ her Common Vici. license. Orison V. Hull dog officer Wrote ~dvising that he Woul~ not. be seeking reappointment to this position. A report was received from the Fire Rating association relative to the survey 'they had Made last summer, but the recommendati~ in same as to cost were out of all.porportion to the savings that would be had, same was filed for the time being. Mr. F -Ke~mit Payne, ~was granted a common vici. ice cream and . -milk license for a delicitessent type restaurant at No. 26 Center St. ~ subject to inspection of the premises when ready. A lette~ was received from the Supt.'.Of streeis, the ~riginal which had been sent to the Firemans Asso. relative to their complaint as to the way the streets had been sanded, and .same was placed on file .... , : A report was received from the Wa'nnacomet Water Co. of t~eir '"water main cleaning project and placed on file. Mr. 'Aline poirie~ ~as grantd a'renewal of his milk a~d ice cream lieense at Alines Bakery. A letter was received from the state treasurers office to the town treasurer relative to the amount of the steamship deficit, and it was voted to advise that the town meeting Selectmens Meeting 29 :January 1959 :.. last year'~in resolution voted that the Selectmen not' pay.this bill until ordered to do so by a court of cqmpetent jurisdiction There being no further business the meeting adj.
