HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-12-23selectmen~ Me~tin'g 23 De¢.~1958 ~ The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM all members of the Board being present. ~ ' - War~ant No; ~52 to_tailing $7,686.73 was presented by' Town 'Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Towd counsel submitted an answer in Re Ram Pasture to be signed by the Ch..of the Board and returned to him for filing in the Land Court.' Same was voted approved and the Ch. authorized to sig~ for the Board. '~ The Board 'was in receipt of an estimate from the Wannacomet -Water Co. of hydrant charges etc. for fire prot. ecti.on for ,, 1959 and filed .... Lette~rs were received from a Mr. Siddell and Mr. jennings-of Pocomo protesting the laying out of,a road near and on their ,property and voted referred to the Cle,r,k of the County Comm. Bids were received and opened as follow on collectin~ rubbish at 3arious town and county bldgs for the year 1959: Myles M. Reis $318.50; A. Johnsen Sr. $325.00 and Nathna 'Thurston $247.00. It was voted that same be awarded to the lowest bidder Mr. Thurston. ' The Board discussed the matter of vehicles parked on the~streets all night and during storms and voted to insert a notice calling on all citizens 'to cooperate in this matter.- Kent K. King dba the Moorings and Gardner St. was granted a re- newal of his innholders license at said places of business , not be' to exercised at both locations at the same time. The town clerk presented the political calander for 1959 and same was check and approved by, the Board. Date of annual town election and meeting being Feb. 28 and 24. A budget of the tree commission, was recei4ed~and placed on file. There being no furth'er business the Board Went'into executive session~to discuss welafare matters and adj, at 9.30 PM. Welfarei ' ~ The hospital and'drs. bills of one Leslie-LaPountain were checkad and it appearing that we had'a balance in the welfare acc and that-this person was medically indigent same,were voted appro for payment.
