J .~: The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM all members of,the Board

Warrant No. ~ to'alVing $~7,781.53 was presented by TOwn' Acct
'Barrett ~nd checked and approved by the Board.,
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and a~p~oved
Mr. William MurraY"and Mr. Barker of N.E.'Airlines were 'present
relative to the notices sent on,the petition of,the,Tel & Te
to lay underground cable on Milestone rd. advised the cable
would be on the town layout they had no objections, no other
objections having been received on the ,noti~ss sent the
petition was voted approved.
Mr. g. Elmore Taylor was granted a p~rmit to move a small bldg.
~rom Dock street to St. wharf.
A letter was ~eceived from Newsome & Co. advising'that due to
press story'appearing in N.Bedford paper in which it was
'intimated that we were unhappy with their handling or,the
300th anniversky'celebration,that they were exercising their
,option'under the contract to cancel same 30 days from date.
This matter was disuussed at some length but no avtion taken
until we had heard 'from the 300th steering committee.
There being no further busines~ the Board went into executive
session to discuss welfare matters and adj. at 8.50 PM.
Welfare:
Ir'was voted to ,advise Harriet~Leighto~ to
from Our Island Home and have her reinstated on Old Age
she having been admitted to the home on a temporary basis
It Was voted to advise KeePer Purlong toTM submit a ms~thly
report-to the Board on the number and names of patients at
the home and their dondition.
