The meeting came to order as selectmen at 8.06 PM having been
preceeded by a Countyh Commissioners meeting, all members
of the Board being present.
Warrant No. 41, totalling $123,856.35 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Wm. Winslow shellfish warden was present and rePorted that
he had made a survey of the scallop situation and found
what appeared to be a good supply in Nantucket harbor and
Tuckernuck and probably also at Madaket although the grass
at Madaket made it idfficult to take a good sampling.
After discussion it was 'voted to Close Coskata pond to
dredging for scallops until further notice.
It was also voted to authorize the Secy to have the comm-
ercial scallop licenses printed in the same form and with-
the same regulations and fee as last 'year.
A request was received and approved for the Gas and Elect' Co. to clean the brush under its pole l~ne to Siasconset.
A letter was received from the CAM requesting authority to plaee ~
two temporary poles near their tower location at the rear
of Nobadeer Rest. on the town land same being necessary
while repairs are being made to the installation at Alter
Rock, it was voted that same be approved.
An application was received ~rom Clinton and Agnes Murray for a change of location of their package goods sotre from
29 to,23 Main street and voted to take the course prescribe
by law. ~ .~
Mrs Claude Emmons requested a no parking area in front~of ~ drive
wasy on Broad street and same was referred to the Supt. of
streets for attention.
Notices were received from the DPW advising that Work had been
completed on Monomoy Rd. and Milk street extension.
Applications were complted for' licensing of Our Island Home as
'as infirmary and voted forwarded to the state.
It was vot'ed to obtain the necessary samPles Of forms relative
to setting up a purchase order system for the various
town depts.
There being no further business the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 9.15PM

Welfare: Relative to Board at OUr Island Home it was voted to
raise the board charged ~sther Corcoran from 48 to60 per mont~
it appearing that she was received about 72 per months from
Vet. Benefits.
It was voted to increase the Board of Mrs Ray from 40 to 60
dollars per month.
