2 Oct. 1958
The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM, all members of the Board
being present.
Warrant No. ~4~ totalling fzf-C'~'~'~o was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
It was voted to close the town comfort stations tomorrow Fri.
the town acct. advising that we had expended all the funds
appropriated.
Town Acct' Barrett conferred with the Board as Register o'f Deeds
and showed the Board a proposal for purchasing a camera
to be used in micro filming the town records which is man-
datory, and advised that the same outfit could be used for
recording deeds which are now recorded by making a type-
written copy, stated that the micro film would be sent
a firm in N.Y. every week and they would provide an approve~
print punched and in proper size for binding in the registr,.
binders, The cost of the camera on a lease purchase agree-
ment would be 1200.00 per year for three years at the end
of which time we would own the camera. The cost of the prin' s
'of the deeds would be .80 per page. It was suggested that
the Register get more information on this matter and also
the cost if we purchased the camera at once rather than on
a lease purchase agreement.
A notice was received from the Alcoholic Bev. Control Commission
relative the the sales on Columbus Day and filed.
It was voted to have a street light installed at the intersection
of Delenay and Derrymore rds.
A letter was received from Mrs SChepp on Easy street requesting
that we put an article in for a sidewalk at her property
on Easy street, and filed at this time.
It was voted to purchase plastic screening from the state for
use by the Shellfish dept.the state to reimburse us for
cost of same.
A letter was received'from the Historical Asso. advising that
the Civic League was reinstating the neighbors program
and placed on file.
An application for underground cable on,Mileston Rd. from Sconset
to the old airport road was received from the Tel & Tel'
and date for hearing set for Oct. 16th.
An application was received from Elwyn Prancis Sr. for the po-
sition of Deputy Shellfish Warden and filed at this time.
Mr. Nathan Thurston & Son appliced for a permit to sell ra~ and
pasteurized milk and to operate a pasteurization plant and
it was voted to inspect said plant at 3 PM Friday the 3rd.
A letter was received from the 300th Anniversary Committee re-
lative to a revision of the Contract with Newsome & Co.
and it was voted to have a meeting with said committee
Tues. the 7th at 7.30 PM to discuss this matter.
The matter of possibl~ shutting off Coskata Pond from commercial
scallop dredging was discussed but no action taken.
There being no further business the meeting adj. at 9 PM
