The meeting came to ~rder at 8PM all members of 'the Board being
present. '~
Watt'tnt No. 29, totaling $17,330.93 was presented by Town ACct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Navy Wives 'club was granted a permit to hold a ~treet dance
on Aug. 30th~from 9 to 12 on lower Pearl street between
Federal and N. Union.
A letter Was received from a Miss VanDyane and Mabel ~.' Depu
with reference to the dangerous'unertow at Cisco. It was
also reported that Mr. Clifford Barbour Jr. of~Siasconset
had offered to place some life rings and rope at various
surf swimming areas about the town, of which the Board
approved. It was voted to have signs erected at Cisco
warning as to the undertoWh.
Mr. Oscar Ceeley Sr. was granted a permit to move a bldg. f~om
Wash. street to Hummock pond rod. Morin and Sons to do the
actual moving. The police dept. to be notified'.of the mov-
ing date and the actual moving to be completed before 8A~
on the date of moving.
On reque'st of Chief Howes the following were appointed
Police: Wm. Byron Snow; Fredereick Coffin; Nelson Bldridge,
and John Robert Oakley the latter for duty with the local
Police Dept. ' ~',
Mr. Barrett discussed with the Board the lact of insur'ance
coverage for Fire Dept.-imployees while not actually att-
ending a fire, and the wire supt. and it was voted to ask
Mr. Albert G. Brock to meet with us next week to explain
the coverage he had proposed.
It was voted to have a slow children sign erected at Baxter Rd.
and Butterfly Lane in Siasconset.
