Barrett and checked' and approved by the Board. Minutes of the p~'evious meeting were read and' approved. The following, applications were received and licenses or permit approved: , ' ' Janet Reed, Carol Houghton and Kathleen O'Donnell dba. Dairy Bar, 4th Milestone. Common Vici. Ice Cream,Soft Drk. Siasconset Casino, Movies; White Elephant Hotel, piano 'entertainment week days. Sidewalk Art Show, on Broad St. Aug. 18th, 19th 20th. Frank Burr dba The Ropewalk ammendment of entertainment permit to allow singing by pianist. Robert B. Blair dba The Jib Club, ent. permit r~corded background music. Boat House Rest. ent. permit, recorded music and piano. Moby Dick, Siasconset, ent. permit, music recorded and Nantucket and Sconset Bus Line Inc. permit to operate bathing beach bus line over same streets as in [ years .... A letter was received from Congdon and Colem and Albert G. Co. ins. agents relative to town building ins. advising that they had secured a reduction in rate.from .d9¢ to to .4~¢ per thousand which would be an estimated saving.of $500.00 dollars annually. They also recommended that the present town policis which expire at random times be all cancelled and that' they be authorized to rewrite same on a five _year installment basis which would provide a more efficient program. Same was' voted approved. An application was received fro approvkl of pole locations on Dave street and Somerset Rd. extension and date for set for Wed. the 2nd of 'July '58. - ~. A letter was received from Louis Davidson and John Roche' re- questing'a hydrant on Cliff Rd. near Hinckley Lane. It,was voted to confer with the water co. as to their mains in area and cost of same. '. Mr.'Matthew Jaeckle wrote-with reference to dead end street ~ signs on Monomoy suggesting that same not be.plkced until the ~ present construction work is :completed and same .was~ approved. He also stated that he felt the Warrens Landing road was in good shape and no fill was needed near the beac apparently there was some misunderstanding as to this as the request was for fill in a low spot in the road, and the matter was tabled with members of the board to inspect the area. A letter Was receiQed from the Sewer Dept. requesting a meeting with the Finance Committee to discuss necessary transfers and same was voted referred to the Fiance Committee. It was voted to~advertis'e for applicants for the position of Life Guard at the Sconset beach. There'being no further business the meeting~adj, at 8.45 the Board going into executive session to discuss welfare matters. James K. Glidden, Secy.
