The meeting came ~o or'der at 8PM all members of the Bo'ard being
' present..
Warrant No' 22 . t~talling '$14,445,85 was rprese~ted .~y'Town.
Acct Barrett and chedked and approved~ by 'the Board.
Minutes of the previous.meeting were read and'approved.'
Mr. RobErt S. Backus dba The Wauwinet House was granted a renewal
of his entertainment license.
An application was received from Clarice L. Maddes for a gues~
house license at the former Chase House on N. water St.
and table' for references. ,
The following licenses and permits were granted:
Overlook Hotel, Innholders license; S, hips Inn, recorded music
entertainment license; Dreamland Theater Inc. Sunday Movise
, Ropewalk Restaurant, Piano entertainment, and recorded must
no group singing. ,-
Chief Howes reqeusted the appointment of Hermon Johnson as a
- Sp. Police officer, and same was voted approved.
Mr. Do6glas Lawrence was present and discussed with the Board
the~ matter of the~-extension of his contract for the in-
stallation of windows at Our Island Home. This matter was
discussed and'taken under advisement, the Board later in
the meeting voting to graht an extension of this contract
~ till 18 June ( an extension of two weeks.).
The Board' mentioned the matter of the Broad Creek corsing and
it was the~sense of the~meeting that we have the Supt. of~
streets discuss this .matter with us before any work is done.
It was voted to have a truck loading zone marked on the corner
o{ Old N. Wharf and S. Water street alongside the Downlflak~
' Doughnut shop. :-
It was voted that we advertise for bids ~u~der article 20 of the
', annual warrant for raking; and'cleaning up public beaches.
bids to be in by next,meeting.
There being no further business th~ Board went into executive
session and adjpurned at 10PM.
Executive Session: '
Lifeguards;- The board f~ent over various applic'ations~re~
c~ived'for lifeguard positions~nd sleeted three names,"auth- ~
oiizing the~Secy, to Writhe-and offer position'to those selected
'for the Jetties Beach, Childrens-Beach and Sconset Beach.
.... It W~s suggested that we have Alberth Ottision look at 'the
damaged skiff which is at'the town barfi 'off, Orange St.'~and get
an estimate or. the cost to ~repair same.
