Meeti Warrant' No. · totallings, .... ' was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes'of the'previous meeting were approved. Bids were received and opened on providing windows at OUr Island Home as follows: Couglas Lawrence $445.00 Seddon Legg Jr. 489.47 Clarence E. Lyon $476.25 all less 2% 10 days. It was voted that same be awarded to the lowest bidder Mr. Lawrence. Supt. of streets Jaeckle met with the Board and submitted spec- fications for road work and a new truck for the highway dept. It was voted to advertise for bids same to be in by 17 April 1958 and to provide for a 6000 performance bond on work on Gold Star drive and a time limit of 30 days from the time work started.' The Board met with Mr. Tripp and Mr. Devine of the Blue Cross and the Boston Mutual the .present carriers of the town and - county employees insurance. The matter or renewal of the policies was discussed but the board took no action at this time on a decision as to whether to renew or to advertise for bids, the present insurance exp{res 15 May 1958. Mr. A. Preston Manchester was granted an entertainment lic~ense for piano music at the Upper Deck Restaurant ...... Mr. George Allen dba Allens Bakeryv on $. Water street appiied for an ice cream and soft drink license, and same.were approved subject to an inspection of the premises by the board and compliance with the Board of Health regulations relative to bakerys. Renewal applications were received from the following for[seasona! alcoholic beverage licenses and voted to take the course pre' scribed by law: The Islander Inc. Snakaty Beach Club, Nobade( Inc. and the Harbor House. An opinon was received from the town counsel advising that 'in his opinion the appointments as made by the Board to-the Nantuck( Airport Commission were legal.~ Mrs Gilbert Burchell who had applied for a Common Vict. license · at Milk St. extension advised that the premises were ready for inspection and Ch. Pease was appointed a committee of one to inspect same. ,., ......... There being no further business the Board went into executive' session to discuss welfare matters and adj. at 11. 15 PM. Welfare: Application of Eleanor Appleton for coal was'~n~- ~ppvoed it appearing that she had recently sold some land and should have money to take care of coal. It was voted to have a Sp. meeting Monday at 7.30 to rough out specifications for the leasing of the Jetties .Beach. The Board discussed the general road work contracts and voted to specify in same under sealcoating that the bid price would apply to Ch. 90 as well as town work. r t
