Warrant No. 13, totalling $35,391.50 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved byh the Board. Minutes of'the previous me'tin§ were read and-approved. Bids were opened on 1½" fire hose for the fire dept as follows: Cha H. Clougherty Co. Robinson & Co. Justin McCarthy Co. American Fire Equip. Co. Ralph J. Perry $1.10 per ft 2% 10 days .95¢ per ft 1.05 per ft 2% 10 days .95.¢ per ft 2% 10 days .98¢ per ft 2 % lo days Clougherty Co. submitted an alternate bid on hose which did not comply with specs for 89¢ per ft. Robinson Co. submitted quotations on there whole line running from .74¢ thru 95¢ a ft. and American Fire Equipment bid also on hose at 87¢ per.ft. After discussing the matter a~ length with the Fire Chief it was voted to purchase 450 ft of the hose as bid by the Chs. H. Clougherty Co. at 1.10 per ft. it appearing that it more nerely complied with the specifications and what the fire chief wanted that the other hose as submitted. Bids were opened on a new Police Cruiser as follows: Gordon Mtr Co.. 1495.00; Al's Auto Sales & Service 1145.00 and White Whale Chevrolet 867.95. It was voted that same be awarded to the lowest bidder White Whale Chevrolet. It was voted to meet Fri. 28 March 58 at 3.30 PM at the Town Clerks office to select jurors for the grand and traverse jury, Superior Court. It was VOted to write Mr. Bessete of the Dept. of Public Works Waterways Division to determine if the offer he made the Board as regards~'state funds for the construction of a boat landing was only good for the childrens beach area. An application was received From Harold and Gwen Gaillard dba the Opera House for a renewal of their Common Vict. all alcoholic seasonal license and voted to take the course prescribed by law. An application gf the Island Sercice Co. for a permit to store gasoline in underground tanks at a new filling station to be construcged at the site of the Nant. Auto Service was received, and the date for hearing set for 10 April lg58 at 10 AM. A letter was received from Dr. Wylie L. Collins thanking the Board for his reappointment as Town Physician and suggesting that some thought be give to having all dogs innoculated for rabies. It was voted to get more information on this matter. Mr. A. Houseman at Elm Tree Inn Quince St. was granted a r'enwwal of his Lodging House license. A ~etter was received from Town Counsel Sanguinetti advising in reply to our letter requesting that the town obtain land in the creek area being taken for taxes, that he had ad- vised the town treasurer of same and that it would be ne- cessary to have a specific vote of~,a town meeting and that h would be glad to draw the necessarM article. Mr. ,Barrett suggested thatsomething should be done about the ra~mp'used by passengers boarding and leavign the new Nantuck and it was Pored to consult our authority member Mr. Backus about this matter.. " The Board ,then ~ent into executive sess'i~n to discuss Welfare matters and ajourned at i1 PM. Weifar~-The hospital bill of Etta'Nicketson in the amount of 35.50 was approved for payment.
