Warrant No. 12, totalling $8320.64 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. .' "~' Minutes of the previou~ me'ting'were read and ~approved~ ~, Bids were received and opened for Tires for the Fired Dept.~ as follows; Sherburne Oil Co. $700.00 Als Auto Sales and..,~, Service $695.00. It was voted that the contract be,awarded~ to the lowest bidder Al's Auto Sales and Service; A letter inviting the Board to the Boy Scout Rally at Cyrus Pierc, Auditorium on Tues at 7.30 PM was received and noted. Mr. Edward Gardner a'nd ~r.'4-h~ H~ Bartlett4-- were present.and discussed with the Board the matter of the suggestion made to open Hummock Pond, they were opposed to ~any .opening of ~he pond ~n that ~he~ use ~he wa~ter from the pond for ~gat~on. They advised ~ha~ they had Cleaned out some of the brush and los spots ~n ~the d~tches from the No Bottom-Pond area and tha~ same was now dra'~n~ng properly. ~It was sugg- ested ~ha~ we should have an article ~n the annual warra~ to do some work on ~hese ditche~. The ma~ter of 0Pen~ng ~he pond was tabled ~ndefinately.~ Application were received f~om Willie House dba The ~hic~'n Bo~ Rest. Barbara Schell dba The Boat House and Hilda Allen dba Allens Lobster Grill for renewal of their alsoholic beverage licenses and s~e were voted~to~take the course _< prescribed by law. ~ ~ - ~ I~ was vo~ed to write ihs D.P.W. requesting th~m to cesterline' island highways as in previous years. ~ ..... Mr. William Feega~ was granted a renewal of his' g~es~':~-house ~'~'lic-'' ense at Hussey St.~ and Westminster s~reet..-~ ,. .. Mrs Gertrude ~helden wrote ,advising ~hat she would be interested in a position in ~he ~elfare dept. :should~anY~va~ncy occurd' ~ t <' -and s~e was placed on file.' .......
